Hvide Sande Fish Auction has a modern auction hall with 1,400 m2 of cold storage. From the auction hall, Hvide Sande Fish Auction sells all consumption fish, which ensures a very high quality. Fish from Hvide Sande is in demand and valued throughout Europe.
Hvide Sande Fish Auction conducts the auction on the internet, where over 100 buyers from Europe bid every morning on the landed catches. A large portion of the landings for the auction are packed, fresh fish. This means fish that the fishermen sort, clean, and ice on board the boats. On some vessels, the fish boxes are marked with information about catch date, catch location, and weight. The information follows the catches all the way to the fishmongers or to repackaging at the exporter.
Hvide Sande Fish Auction is certified to sell a number of consumption fish species under MSC – Marine Stewardship Council. The MSC Certification ensures that the catches come from sustainable fishing and that it is possible to trace the fish all the way from fishing boat to consumer.
