Welcome dear guest sailor

As a guest in Port of Hvide Sande, you visit an open and active harbor. There is both the opportunity to get close to harbor activities, to see the fishing vessels unloading for auction, and to observe loading and unloading activities.

We are happy to showcase the harbor. Therefore, as a guest, you can expect us to inform you about the activities and services that are relevant to you.

You will find our floating docks for guest sailors in the South Harbor immediately to starboard when you sail into the harbor. In the summer season, we have two floating docks dedicated to guest sailors.

The parking spaces are only a few minutes' walk from Hvide Sande center, and you have unique access to everything that makes Hvide Sande a popular tourist and holiday destination.

In Hvide Sande, you will find exciting shops and well-visited cafes. There is also only a few minutes' walk to the child-friendly and beautiful beach, South Beach.

Service facilities for pleasure sailors

As a guest sailor, you have free access to the welfare building, which is located in connection with the floating docks. There are both common areas, shower rooms, and laundry rooms. There is also a washing machine and a dryer with coin-operated slots. You can freely use the facilities.

Berths in the Fjord Harbor

If you do not wish to stay at the Fisheries Harbor, or are simply looking for a different experience, you can go through the chamber lock at Blåttårn to the fjord. Here we offer berths in the Fjord Harbor.

Navigational and current conditions

Our navigational and current conditions do not differ much from the other harbors on the West Coast. However, our harbor watch is always ready to assist you if you need it

Activation

1. Select plug

2. Insert the plug from the boat

3. Turn the switch above the plug

4. The green light blinks on the selected plug(s)

5. Call the number on the pedestal

6. When the green light shines steadily, there is power in the plug

Disconnection

1. Turn off the plug using the switch at the plug

2. Remove the plug

3. The green light stops blinking/shining

Information for pleasure sailors

There is a payment system for guest sailors at the floating docks. Here you can get information about activities and other relevant information.

At the tourist office, they are always helpful with information about the many activities in Hvide Sande. You will find the tourist office on the other side of the sluices at Fiskeriets Hus, only a 10-minute walk from the boat slips.

TS-Freeport

Port of Hvide Sande is a TS-Freeport. This means that ships that are members of the Traditional Ships Association can benefit from the freeport scheme. To use a free space, your ship must be registered on TS’s vessel list and fly the TS flag (the virgin flag). A valid annual sticker must also be placed on the front of the front mast.

The aim of the Traditional Ships Association is to promote the preservation of older working vessels. They aim to increase the standard of seamanship, maintenance, and safety in the use of the vessels while ensuring that the vessels are preserved with due regard to their cultural and historical value.
