Fishing Harbour Facts
As one of Denmark's most modern fishing ports, the Port of Hvide Sande has all the services and facilities you need. The enterprises at the port provide high quality solutions in all areas of service for a modern fishing fleet.
We are close to the North Sea's attractive fishing grounds in terms of fish for human consumption, shrimp and industrial fishing. Our fishing fleet consists of approximately 40 vessels with a total gross tonnage of approximately 4,000 bt.
The Port of Hvide Sande is used by vessels from all over Denmark. In addition, industrial fishermen and vessels from the surrounding countries of the North Sea are also attracted by our great location and good unloading facilities.
The fishmeal factories, 999 in Thyborøn and FF Skagen take the industrial fish we land in Hvide Sande.
The fishing port consists of two sections west of the sluices; Sydhavn and Nordhavn. Sydhavn consists of Quay 11 and two basins. Quay 11 has been extended with a quay that has a water depth of seven meters. Among other things, this quay can be used for landing of fish for human consumption. A gear terminal has been built at Nordhavn, where it is possible to rent buildings for storing fishing gear.
East of the sluices are our two port sections in Ringkøbing Fjord; Østhavn and Tyskerhavn. The port security services are available 24/7.
We have two shipyards with slipways, for the construction of new vessels and repairs to fishing vessels. We also have ship provisioning, machine shops and electronics companies specialising in servicing fishing vessels. Diving assistance and mobile cranes are also available.

We are continuously adapting the port to the changing requirements of the fishery industry Our top priority is to ensure stable access for vessels.
We are gradually reinforcing our existing quays to provide greater water depth in the existing basins.
Most recently, we have established a facility for landing fish for the auction hall and ice from Hvide Sande Isværk at quays 20 and 21 in Sydhavn, where we have also extended the water depth to 7 meters.
