The government and a broad majority of the parties in the Folketing decided in May 2023 to initiate the tender for three offshore wind farms in the North Sea I area:
The tender for the 3 parks had a bidding deadline in December 2024. For many reasons, it turned out that no bids were made for the construction of the parks.
Instead, there is now a new tender for the parks North Sea Mid, and North Sea South. The 2 parks have bidding deadlines in May 2026 and fall 20278 respectively, with construction of the facilities in the early 2030s.
Both parks (North Sea Mid and North Sea South) have Hvide Sande harbor as their clear nearest service harbor.

Port of Hvide Sande is, as the map shows, the nearest port to all 3 offshore wind farms and will therefore, due to its unique location, flexible infrastructure, previous experiences with offshore projects, and a large palette of service companies, offer quay facilities and areas for among others:
Each of the 3 offshore wind farms has a capacity of 1GW; additionally, it will be possible to "overplant" with more turbines for purposes such as Power-to-X. 1 GW roughly translates to the annual electricity consumption of 1 million households.
This means that the three parks together can provide enough electricity to cover 3 million households annually.
