Hvide Sande welcomes the offshore wind industry
Offshore wind activity is of great importance to Hvide Sande Harbor, and with the establishment of the O&M center for Vesterhav Syd/Nord, the harbor becomes a hub for current and future wind farms in the North Sea.
Port of Hvide Sande is centrally located as the closest harbor to the upcoming offshore wind farms in the North Sea. Among these are the 2 parks in North Sea 1.
Additionally, the harbor is also very well placed in relation to a future EnergyØ. (though further out in the future)
The short travel time from Hvide Sande Harbor to North Sea 1 saves the park owners a lot of money, as it provides technicians with more working hours on the turbines. The short travel time also means low fuel consumption. Finally, the short travel time provides greater safety, as the service boats can reach the harbor faster in case of bad weather.

Port of Hvide Sande also always offers an ice-free harbor for the offshore wind industry's crew boats. Hvide Sande is today the home port for a number of companies, led by Hvide Sande Shipyard, which provides expertise in servicing a large part of the industry's crew boats. Hvide Sande Shipyard has notably built five crew boats, which today sail on, among other things, Horns Rev and Anholt. Additionally, they have great expertise in building both electric and hydrogen vessels.
